I have a feeling that 2018 for me is going to be a year of getting shit done. It probably won’t be fun, or particularly exciting, but I have a feeling that at the end of it I’ll have got a lot done.
Here are my goals the rest of 2018 (in no particular order) :
- Save up for a deposit to buy a property
I am incredibly impatient so rather than being sensible and do what most other people do (probably) and have a savings plan over the course of several years, I’m just probably going to work as many jobs as possible and save as much money as I can in a short space of time. Let’s see how that pans out. - Get Fit
Ah, here we are again, old friend. Fitness and I have a bit of a love/ hate relationship because I flick from being completely and utterly dedicated (working out all the time, eating super healthy food etc) to be a lazy fat shit and eating nothing but cheese and literally doing no exercise at all. So perhaps this will be the year I find a sustainable fitness regime. To be honest, I’m not unhappy with my body, I am actually (for once) very comfortable in my own skin but I would still like to drop a few pounds, tone up, actually be able to run without being out of breath etc. - Finish a novel or a collection of short stories
To actually finish one of my many abandoned fictional projects in high on the list this year. After getting my first short story published, I’ve gained a confidence boost in terms of my writing abilities and now all that’s really standing in my way is my own motivation. - Get my full drivers license
So this entails doing my theory exams for bike and car, my bike test, and then taking a refresher or intensive driving course for a car and passing the practical exam for that as well. Since I already have a bike that I drive with my CBT certificate, it makes more sense to focus on the bike first and foremost. - Reduce my use of plastic
The only specific goal I have that isn’t really about me, after watching several documentaries recently, I really want to try and reduce my use of plastic this year. I am forever buying reusable shopping bags and then forgetting to take them to the shops with me, I don’t need plastic straws in my drink in the pub, and simple changes like a reusable flask for coffees and a BPA free water bottle aren’t exactly drastic life changes but would certainly be a start.
What about you? What are your goals for 2018?
Erm… WHY DON’T I SEE “SEE MORE OF AMY” ON THIS LIST.
Shocking.
PS) Love you.
PPS) Get yo ass in gear and get #3 DONE. NOW MOVE IT MOVE IT MOVE IT.
